VIRTUAL REALITY

Virtual reality is the term used to describe a three-dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with a person. That person becomes a part of this virtual world or is immersed within the environment and able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions. There are many different types of virtual reality systems that are able to share the same characteristics such as the ability to allow the person to view three-dimensional images. These images appear life-sized to the person. They can also change as the person moves around their environment which corresponds with the change in their field of vision.

The aim is for a seamless join between the person’s head and eye movements and the appropriate response, e.g. change in perception. This ensures that the virtual environment is both realistic and enjoyable.A virtual environment should provide the appropriate responses in real time as the person explores their surroundings. The problems arise when there is a delay between the person’s actions and system response or latency which then disrupts their experience. The person becomes aware that they are in an artificial environment and adjusts their behavior accordingly which results in a stilted, mechanical form of interaction.

FREE NET

The Free Net network provides an efficacious designates of incognito information storage and retrieval. By utilizing cooperating nodes spread over many computers in conjunction with an efficient adaptive routing algorithm, it keeps information incognito and available while remaining highly scalable. Initial deployment of a test version is underway, and is so far proving prosperous, with tens of thousands of copies downloaded and many intriguing files in circulation. Because of the innominate nature of the system, it is infeasible to tell precisely how many users there are or how well the insert and request mechanisms are working, but anecdotal evidence is so far positive.

The five main design goals are

    • Anonymity for both producers and consumers of information.
    • Deniability for stores of information.
  • Resistance to attempts by third parties to deny access to information.
    • Efficient dynamic storage and routing of information.
    • Decentralization of all network functions
The system is designed to respond adaptively to utilization patterns, transparently moving, replicating, and effacing files as compulsory to provide efficient accommodation without resorting to broadcast searches or centralized location indexes. It is not intended to ensure sempiternal file storage, albeit it is hoped that an ample number of nodes will join with enough storage capacity that most files will be able to remain indefinitely. In integration, the system operates at the application layer and postulates the subsistence of a secure convey layer, albeit it is convey-independent. It does not seek to provide anonymity.

Sony Contact Lens

Sony wants to take camera technology to next level with its latest patent. The Japanese multinational has been awarded an incipient patent that describes a contact lens able to record videos with utilizer's deliberate ocular perceiver blinks. The patented contact lens has perspicacious sensors embedded in it that can differentiate between an involuntary blink and a deliberate blink.Seven Japanese inventors have collaborated to design the contact lenses that in integration to a camera, withal includes wireless processing unit and a storage unit. This sanctions Sony's blink powered contact lens offer the facility for later viewing of images and videos.

The patented contact lenses will withal contain minute piezoelectric sensors that can quantify vicissitudes in pressure, temperature, expedition and force. The lenses will draw power from simple process of electromagnetic induction. As noted, Sony is kenned for its optics and the patented contact lenses might withal offer camera features such as aperture control, auto-focus, and image stabilization.
